HISTORY

Originally designed for the U.S. military for extreme weather conditions for arctic expeditions to high temperature tarmacs.

In 1996, the U.S. Navy/Marine Corps requested that TechSpun© write a specification document and manufacture an extreme Weight/Weather boot sock Since that time, TechSpun© has produced the “Environmental Sock System” exclusively for the U.S. Navy/Marine Corps. The “Environmental Sock System” has exceeded the quality performance standards specified in that document. Now, for the first time, these boot socks are available to the general public.

TRAVEL

The TechSpun Sock System substantially reduces the amount of socks needed to be carried. The Travel Pack which consists of two pairs of TechSpun Boot Socks(which are indestructible and need to be washed less frequently) and three pairs of Coolmax liners (which can be washed by hand and air dried overnight) is all that is required.

SUMMER

The TechSpun Sock System works as well in summer as it does in the winter months. There is a misconception that you need thin socks in the heat of the summer. Thick socks provide insulation from heat as well as from cold. Evaporative cooling occurs from the liner sock into the nap of the thick sock so the skin surface stays cool and dry. The high density knit construction and crimped fiber design prevents heat from penetrating the penetrating the environment of the foot.

ALLERGIC TO WOOL

With the proper use of the system, the Coolmax® liner sock shields the skin from the wool fibers of the boot sock.
